To obtain a written approval letter to enter, you must contact a travel agency prior to departure.”

Why Vietnam visa on arrival is preferred?

Obviously you can apply Vietnam visa directly at Vietnam Embassy. However, in case there is no Vietnam Embassy or Consulate in your country, or you just want to make Vietnam as one part of a multi-destination trip, we recommend Vietnam visa upon arrival as your best option since it saves a lot of time and money.

I called the embassy in DC today and they said American citizens are required to have a visa prior to arrival in Vietnam. This is what is on their consular website as well. I think only a limited number of nations that do not have consular offices in their countries can get a visa on arrival. At least, this is what I was made to understand by the official at the embassy in DC.

Day 01: Bali - Labuan Bajo - Rinca - Kalong Island

Departing from morning to fly to Bali to Labuan Bajo Flores. Arriving at the airport in Labuan Bajo Komodo Flores will be picked up by our tour guide and the vehicle towards the sea port to go to Rinca Island with a local tourist boat about 2 hours.
